most recent Nicaragua mission trip!

In June 2004, the Youth Mission Team worked with a disaster relief team in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The job was to restore a trailer home that had been unoccupied since being almost destroyed by hurricanes Isadora and Lily in 2002. The home sits eight feet above ground, and had been enlarged by an addition equal to the original trailer. Each day the team worked to frame interior walls, add insulation, pressure wash and paint the outside, install electric wiring throughout, put up sheet rock and paneling, replace several windows and do whatever else was needed to make the home habitable for the homeowner.

This is the fifth mission work trip for some of our youth; they know building techniques, value teamwork, and are great leaders. Every single member of the work team exhibited dedication to the work at hand and took great pride in doing the best job possible.

After a day of hot, hard work, the team gathered for worship time. The time of sharing was especially poignant this year due to transitions in the lives of many youth and the last trip for John & Holly Westlund (they are now ministering in Tennessee).

God called our team to take on a daunting task ministering in Louisiana. Whatever the challenge, there is confidence that He will be with us at every turn. Praise the Lord!!
